Biography

David has been surrounded by aviation his whole life, before he could even remember. Growing up in New Jersey, his father was a flight instructor. David progressed from the back seat of the plane to the co-pilot seat, and eventually flying himself. From then on out, he saw flight as a part of his future, in some way or another.

However, piloting aircrafts took a back seat when David joined the United States Navy in 1992, serving for 24 years. He was a part of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team, which are a group of specialists, serving on the Bomb Squad. As a parachutist, as well as a diver, David didn’t veer too far from aviation. And after retiring from the Navy, he very much wanted to complete his pilot’s license, something he promised his father.

David did so and started working at the Frederick Flight Center as an instructor in 2018. He enjoys the variety of teaching experiences and being part of students’ different learning processes. David loves to see his students grasp concepts and progress from day one, as he did when he began as a kid.
