Biography
Matt became fascinated with aviation early in life. His father had an ultralight airplane they'd spend summer days flying over the Mississippi river valleys in Southern Minnesota. In addition, his great-uncle Wray was also a decorated USAF WWII pilot who’d often share his war stories with Matt further fueling his passion.
After high school Matt followed his love for aviation into the USAF where he spent 8 years on active duty as enlisted aircrew flying the C-5M Super Galaxy as a Loadmaster for the 9th Airlift Squadron. After his service concluded Matt became interested in various business pursuits and enjoyed aviation only as a hobby. He learned how to hang glide and earned his various pilot certificates & ratings on the nights and weekends over a few years.
In 2022, he completed his instructor certificate and has since made aviation his full time responsibility. He’s excited to work with other learning pilots and is dedicated to sharing his passion for aviation with the goal of building safe and competent pilots.
He lives in Rockville, MD with his wife Alexis and his two huskies Taz and Kira.
