Advanced Aviation Group is your home for expert flight training and education in a friendly and welcoming environment. We offer both general and specialized training across 2 locations in the state of Maryland. In addition to seaplanes we also conduct primary training, rotorcraft training, multi engine training, tailwheel training, etc.

Our seaplane program started with the purchase of an Icon A5 Light Sport Aircraft. The Washington and Baltimore metro areas has never been served by a seaplane program of our size and we look forward to training the next generation of seaplane pilots.

Whether you are looking to travel to us for the training or you are a local looking to add another rating on the back of your certificate, we are here to make you the best seaplane pilot you can be.

Our seaplane training is conducted at Martin State Airport in Middle River, MD just north of Baltimore by a few miles.

Training & Courses

We offer single engine seaplane training for all levels: sport, private and commercial. These ratings can be completed fairly quickly depending on weather and aircraft availability. Some can achieve their rating within 3 days.

We conduct seaplane training on the Chesapeake Bay with most practice landings being performed at Essex Skypark (W48). Your course of training will include practice of:

• Seaplane Base Operations Including Sailing and Docking

• Confined area takeoffs and landings

• Smooth water takeoffs and landings

• Rough water takeoffs and landings
